Underwriter, Developer Surety

RAISE Underwriting is an independently owned, Canadian Managing General Agent (MGA), dedicated to being an industry-leading supplier of risk insurance and surety products through transparency, honesty, and integrity.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyzing new clients and project business for Tarion Bonds and Deposit Protection Insurance and providing terms based on RAISE’s underwriting guidelines
Developing clear and concise underwriting proposals for accounts which may fall outside underwriting authority
Negotiating terms, conditions, and pricing within the parameters of RAISE’s underwriting guidelines/authorities
Monitoring ongoing projects and analyzing funding requests
Identifying opportunities to cross sell with other RAISE departments
Maintaining high levels of service with a solutions-orientated approach
Building a network of relationships with clients, brokers, markets, and regulatory bodies (ie. HCRA, Tarion)
Keeping current on industry and market trends and sharing knowledge internally and with clients
Contributing to the expansion of the RAISE brand through marketing with existing and new broker partners
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 4 years of underwriting experience
University degree/college diploma or equivalent experience
High level of customer service and proven success in building and maintaining effective business relationships
Ability to analyze and evaluate underwriting and financial information
Strong interpersonal, communication, excel and word skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
